New Kittens

We now have 4 brand new baby kittens in the house~ick! Our cat had them in my
daughters bed last night on one of Madison's quilts I made!! The nerve!!!
Anyway that is what I get for taking in a stray female cat I guess!
Just wished the girls would have told us what was up before the darn cat gave
birth in Madison's bed!!! The girls were up until after 10 last night thanks to
Oreo. Madison sat there and watched her give birth when she was supposed to be
sleeping!!! Crazy girl!
And as I was typing the blog I heard a whole lot of crying going on. I go to see what all the fuss is about and find that Katie has taken the babies who are not even a day old yet and put them in her princess dress up box!!! Crazy kid!! And Oreo is desperately trying to get to her crying babies.
So I put one back in the box I set up for them and put Oreo in the box with that one while I rescue the other three.
Let's just hope the kittens can survive Katie's version on "love" until they are old enough to give away!!

I should have know by the look on Katie's face!

Well yesterday was Katie's first Primary Program and so I snapped a shot of all my girls before church. As you can see Katie was being quite the little comedian. I should have guessed that this would only carry over to the program! She was a total cut up the entire time. When the kids got up to sing she decided that was her cue to "help" conduct the music. She also thought it was amusing to wink at the audience while singing and conducting~and of course she was in the front row.
But that is not all....she grabbed the mike when it was her turn to speak and started talking nonsense into it before speaking her part then when she returned to her seat she said loud enough for us to hear on the fourth row "Hey that is my seat you know" to one of the counselors in the Primary Presidency. That was it~Jeremy and I just started giggeling. I almost had to leave the chapel I was laughing so hard. Katie is such a cut up!!
Madison and Abigail were awesome as well. They sang a duet for one of the songs this year. One verse only but it was awesome. They both stepped right up to the mike when they had speaking parts and spoke loud and clear.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful daughters!

Well today was another astounding win for the Bears. The poor saps playing against them never had a chance. Final score 27-0. And cheering them on to victory were the oh so fabulous Bears cheerleaders. And of course what is a cheer squad without it's captain...nadda!! And this week our very own Abigail Garcia was cheerleader of the week...A.K.A. head cheerleader. Let's hear it for our girl!!! Gooooo Abigail!!!!
Braving 100% humidity and the ever present Louisiana heat Abigail proudly led her team in astounding renditions of cheers such as "Dynamite", "Knock em and Block em", "Fire it up", and of course that oldie but goodie "Two Bits, Four Bits". A great time was had by all and we are ready to do it again next week!! Same time, same place....but sadly someone else will be calling the cheers next week....yes the head cheerleader must pass on the megaphone to the next cheerleader of the week!! It was a short but glorious reign!!!
Tune in next time for more exciting news as the Bears continue to pummel their opponents and the girls cheer them on.

My P.J. pants "Cool k" are awesome. They are comfy and warm. They also have cute cats on them. I LOVE MY MOM.

Madison makes a skirt!

My skirt "Navy B" is awesome. The best part is I helped make it . I love sewing. I have wanted to learn since I was a little girl. Now I can. I love Mom.

Abigail's first sewing project-with help from Mommy

Today was Abigail's turn to get a new skirt. The butterfly fabric was in my massive stash of fabric and she had a few pattern options to choose from. We made this skirt using Simplicity pattern 2576, this pattern is designed to help teach kids to sew so it was a great chioce! I explained to her what I was doing and why as I iorned the fabric and the pattern and showed her how to lay the pattern out on the fabric and why you need to pin it in place before you cut. Then I cut it out while she watched. I showed her how to thread the sewing machine and then I let her sew the side seams of the skirt while I guided the fabric through the machine. Next I explained about making a casing for the elastic waistband and why you do that.....at this point she lost interest....lol!!! I finished it out and iorned it for her and she is now wearing her brand new skirt!!! I got the greatest reward of all....a VERY LONG HUG and a "Thank you Mommy!"

Definately not "Project Runway" but it will do.

I am finally sewing again thanks to my sister Terry who has loaned me her sewing machine until I can have mine serviced (THANK YOU TERRY). So today I used some leftover quilting fabric and made a skirt for Katie. After several ummm..."adjustments" and ripping out a few stitches here and there (mainly because I kept losing the elasitc while threading the waistband) I was able to sew it up in just a little over an hour. Not bad considering I HATE making clothes~or at least I used to!!! After seeing Katie's "Happy Dance" I may just have to rethink that idea!

The word according to Katie

So this morning Katie walks into my room with a picture of Jesus in her hand and says to me in a very serious tone "Mommy Jesus wants me to be a Princess!" and then turns around and walks out. A few minutes later she comes back and says, "No Mommy, Jesus really wants me to be a Priness."
